UK visa & immigration support

Child Student & parent arrangements

Support with the child’s visa and eligible parent visa preparation. We consider each person’s immigration position separately. This service does not include school applications.

How we support

  • Clarify the child and parent visa questions using the school information you provide
  • Prepare a checklist of school, care and consent evidence within the agreed scope
  • Identify questions about parental arrangements that need to be resolved before applying

Who this is for

  • Families considering independent-school education for a child aged 4 to 17
  • Parents considering whether the Parent of a Child Student route fits their circumstances
  • Families needing clarity about the difference between a child’s permission and a parent’s permission

Before you apply

  • The child’s age, intended school and proposed start date
  • School offer and sponsorship information where available
  • Proposed living and care arrangements, parental consent and financial evidence

Preparation points to discuss

  • Child Student is an independent-school route; the child must meet the relevant requirements
  • The Parent of a Child Student route is for eligible parents of children aged 4 to 11 and has specific restrictions
  • Do not assume both parents can accompany the child, or that a parent will be allowed to work

Common questions

Does my child’s visa give me permission to live in the UK?

No. A parent needs their own appropriate immigration permission. The Parent of a Child Student route has separate age, care and other eligibility conditions.

Can a parent work on this route?

The Parent of a Child Student route does not permit paid work. Check the full restrictions in the official guidance before planning your finances.
