UK visa & immigration support

Settlement

Settlement (ILR) and British citizenship have strict residence, absence, and good character requirements. Different routes (partner, work, long residence) use different rulebooks — we help you calculate eligibility before you pay Home Office fees.

How we support

  • Absence diary and evidence spreadsheets
  • Document audits before high-value Home Office fees
  • Citizenship good-character checklist
  • Children registering as British where applicable

Who this is for

  • Those completing qualifying residence on partner or work routes
  • Long residence (10-year lawful residence) applicants where eligible
  • Applicants planning naturalisation after ILR

Before you apply

  • Continuous residence with absences within permitted limits
  • Life in the UK test and English at B1 or degree exemption where required
  • No serious criminality or breach of immigration law in relevant periods
  • Payslips, HMRC records, or business evidence for employment routes
  • Valid ILR or settled status before a British citizenship application

Preparation points to discuss

  • Excessive absences or broken continuity
  • Tax or employment discrepancies affecting honest character
  • Incorrect route selected (e.g. mixing partner and long residence rules)

Common questions

Are settlement and British citizenship the same application?

No. Settlement and citizenship are separate applications with different requirements. We first clarify which application you are considering and whether the work is within our scope.

What should I include in my first enquiry?

Outline your current status, plans, deadlines and any previous refusals or other relevant circumstances. Do not send passport scans or bank statements with your first message.

What does the fee cover?

Consultation, document review and application support have different scopes. We confirm the work, fees and exclusions in writing before you proceed. Government and third-party charges are explained separately.
